Geocycle Hellas, a member of HERACLES Group, is launching the “Leaf it clean” initiative in Aspropyrgos

On the occasion of the World Cleanup Day, Geocycle Hellas, a member of HERACLES Group, is once again demonstrating its commitment to a "greener", cleaner and more sustainable waste-free future by implementing the “Leaf it clean” cleanup and tree planting action.

Volunteer employees of Geocycle Hellas and HERACLES Group have joined forces with the environmental and humanitarian organization WE4ALL to remove potential combustible materials, such as waste and dry grass, from an area that has been severely affected by multiple wildfires this year. All in all, over 2 tons of litter and construction waste were collected and removed, in an effort to prevent fires and upgrade the area. At the same time, with a view to contributing to the creation of a valuable “lung” in Aspropyrgos, the volunteers planted new trees and took care of existing ones.

Ms. Lena Belsi, Head of Geocycle Hellas, a member of HERACLES Group, stated about this year's action: “For all of us at Geocycle Hellas, actions such this one fill us with joy, as we are given the opportunity to come closer to nature, take care of our planet – home to all of us – and spread the messages of volunteerism, good environmental behaviour and ecological awareness to the younger generations.
