HERACLES Group celebrates its centenary presence and contribution in Volos

A future-oriented special event paying tribute to history

It was with pleasure and emotion that HERACLES Group celebrated its 100th anniversary of the founding of its historic plant in Volos and held a celebration event on Saturday, October 19. The event took place in the courtyard of the plant and was attended by current and former workers, local bodies and partners from the broader area.

This was a special moment in the history of the plant and the city, which commemorated a centenary of uninterrupted operation and cooperation with the local community, promoting the Group's values. Since 1924, when the plant started operating, HERACLES Group has built dreams and contributed to the progress of the region and its people, with optimism for the future and respect for its heritage.

The event was addressed by Ms Zetta Makri, Deputy Minister of Education & Religious Affairs and Sports, Mr Christos Boukoros, MP of Magnesia, Ms Anna Maria Papadimitriou, Deputy Regional Governor of Magnesia, and officers of the Group, such as Mr Dimitrios Chanis, CEO of HERACLES Group, and Mr Georgios Katerelos, Plant Manager, who referred to the history and future of the plant, as well as its contribution to the development of Volos.

A spectacular drone show followed that dramatically recounted the factory's journey through time. Celebrations were culminated by the display of rich photographic material from the plant's archive, which highlighted its course over the years. Everyone felt particularly emotional, as they recognised among the photos relatives and friends who had worked in the plant since the very beginning of its operation.

Mr. G. Katerelos, Plant Manager, stated:
“We have gathered here today with friends, partners and neighbours to celebrate and share memories from 100 creative years! Together, as a large family, united and proud of our common history, we continue with vision and dedication for the next generations as well as with plans for a sustainable future.”
