HERACLES Group: New cement CEM II/A-L 42.5R/ 52.5N with improved environmental performance.
In the context of its strategic commitment to reduce the environmental footprint of its products and to provide sustainable solutions, both in the Greek and international markets, HERACLES Group announces the launch of the new type of CEM II/A-L 42.5R/52.5N cement.
It generates 8.4% lower carbon dioxide emissions than traditional cements, while maintaining all the top quality characteristics, such as compressive strength, workability, etc.
This new cement is the result of long-term research and rigorous laboratory and industrial tests, which guarantee its excellent quality and reliability in a variety of building applications. It has been produced at the Volos Plant since September 2024 and is available in bulk for the local market, and is also exported to foreign markets. In addition, the production of the new product has been extended to the Milaki Plant, enhancing the production capacity of HERACLES Group.
The environmental performance of the new product has been certified by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), issued in accordance with international standards ISO 14025 and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019, thus guaranteeing the transparency and accuracy of information. The new type of cement meets the requirements of the EN 197-1:2011 standard, hence it fulfils the strictest quality and safety specifications.
