HERACLES Group launches a 6.5 MW solar power plant at its Milaki plant in Evia
HERACLES Group is advancing its strategy for sustainable growth and energy autonomy by bringing into full operation a new large-scale solar power plant at its Milaki facility in Evia, following the commissioning of a similar installation at its Volos plant earlier this May.
With an installed capacity of 6.5 MW, this €6 million investment is part of the Group’s broader energy transition plan, focusing on meeting its own electricity needs through renewable sources, with zero feed-in to the grid. The installation spans the roof of a 10,000 m² building and two additional ground-mounted areas covering a total of 69,000 m².
In total, 11,000 state-of-the-art photovoltaic panels were installed at the Milaki Plant, with estimated annual production reaching 10,000,000 kWh — covering a significant share of the plant’s energy demand. Beyond energy self-sufficiency, the project also delivers substantial environmental benefits, with CO₂ emissions expected to be reduced by approximately 2,350 tons annually.
Vasilis Katerelos, Sustainable Director at HERACLES Group, commented:
"With our eyes on the future, we continue to expand our investments in sustainable projects and environmentally friendly technologies. Driving the transition to a circular and green economy is both a commitment and a top priority for us. We remain focused on leading the way towards the innovative and sustainable construction of tomorrow."
