HERACLES Group launches "The ROOM" initiative to drive dialogue on female empowerment in the modern workplace
With the central message "Where Real Conversations Happen", this new platform made its debut, focusing on the challenges that women are called to manage in their modern personal and professional lives.
The event was attended by female employees of the Group, as well as women from various professional sectors, who had the opportunity to exchange views, share experiences, and openly discuss issues affecting their daily lives and career development. In a welcoming and interactive environment, "The ROOM" functioned as a space for authentic connection, where personal experience met collective knowledge, and dialogue was transformed into a source of inspiration and reflection.
Through meaningful discussions and diverse personal journeys, key issues concerning modern women were highlighted, such as the search for work-life balance, as well as the challenges that accompany their presence and advancement in demanding and often male-dominated work environments. At the same time, the importance of a corporate culture that actively promotes inclusion, equal opportunities, growth, and mutual respect was emphasized.
The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, who shared valuable perspectives:
Ms. Stellina Siarapi, Secretary General for Private Investments of the Ministry of Development and the youngest Secretary General of the Hellenic Government, shared personal experiences from her own professional journey, highlighting the importance of perseverance, self-confidence, and claiming opportunities regardless of age or gender. At the same time, she underlined the value of continuous education and development, as well as the importance of authenticity, emphasizing that professional success does not require adopting "tough" traits or characteristics foreign to one's personality. She placed particular emphasis on the need to cultivate mutual respect, support, and solidarity among women, noting that a new leadership and work model – more inclusive, more humane, and more sustainable for all – cannot be formed without meaningful cooperation and true solidarity among women themselves. Finally, she referred to the phenomenon of violence in all its manifestations, underlining that it constitutes a major social issue permeating modern societies, workplaces, and daily human relationships, requiring the attention, awareness, and contribution of us all.
Ms. May Zanni, Co-Founder of Women Act, spoke about the need that led to the creation of the organization, as well as the evolution of public discourse around gender stereotypes, the importance of mutual support among women, the role of networking and mentoring, and the skills expected to shape the future of work. In a brief statement, she noted: "Every time women share their stories, they build a supportive network that empowers them and encourages them to chase their dreams. Of particular interest was the interactive workshop "Own the Room, Own the Result", which offered participants practical tools and techniques to enhance their authentic presence, self-confidence, and effective communication in the professional environment.
The event was moderated by journalist Maria Akrivou, who, leveraging her many years of experience in leadership, entrepreneurship, and female empowerment, contributed decisively to creating a fruitful and meaningful framework for dialogue.
