HERACLES Group and SYMVOLI join forces on “the SPOT”

HERACLES Group is announcing its collaboration with SYMVOLI for the preparation of electromechanical designs of the sustainable building “the SPOT”

Consistent with its commitment to promoting sustainable practices and sustainable construction, HERACLES Group is entering into a collaboration with SYMVOLI for the creation of “the SPOT” (Sustainable Practices of Tomorrow), an innovative and energy-efficient building at the Campus of the University of Patras, in Rio.

More specifically, SYMVOLI undertook to prepare the electromechanical designs of the Building of Tomorrow, which include water supply, air conditioning, electrical, sewerage, active and passive fire protection installations, as well as the energy efficiency study. Staying firmly one step ahead of developments thanks to its expertise, know-how and experience, SYMVOLI has managed to fully meet the high technical requirements of the first building in Greece where 3D CONCRETE PRINTING technology will be applied in real scale.

Mr. Stefanos N. Papadopoulos, Electrical & IT Engineer and Manager of SYMVOLI firm, stated: “Our contribution to the pioneering project “the SPOT” has been a teaching and enjoyable process for us. Despite our demanding and busy daily schedule, we did not have any second thoughts about accepting to join the project and offer our services. During the preparation of the designs and studies, the challenge was to adapt the electromechanical installations to this type of construction, which is unprecedented in the country, as well as to reduce the energy footprint of the building compared to conventional construction. We also believe that the 3D printing will become an increasingly likely construction option for buildings in the near future. We wholeheartedly hope that “the SPOT” will be an inspiring building for its visitors, so that they in turn can implement and develop their own pioneering ideas and visions.”

Mr. Charalampos Kouris, Sustainability Director at Heracles Group, stated: "We are very happy and proud to join forces with SYMVOLI. Their long experience has been optimally reflected in their designs and studies, which contribute decisively to the achievement of our goal to reduce the energy footprint of “the SPOT”, setting a guiding example for innovative projects of tomorrow’s construction industry”.
