HERACLES Group and its people stand by our affected colleagues and fellow citizens in Thessaly
In this unprecedented humanitarian and ecological disaster in the region of Thessaly hit by Daniel storm, the people of HERACLES Group - several of us working at Volos plant and living in the affected areas - share the suffering of our fellow citizens and express our support and commitment to contribute in any way we can.
From the very first moment, in coordination with the competent authorities, we have provided the affected areas with water, food, specialized equipment and aggregates, and we will continue to do so in accordance with the needs that will arise.
At the same time, we proceed with the restoration of the School Complex in Fytoko, housing the 1st and 4th Vocational High Schools, the 2nd Vocational Training School and the Vocational School.
Specialized employees and contractors of HERACLES Group’s Plant in Volos work alongside the local authorities for immediate relief and damage restoration in the affected areas. We promptly made available the necessary mobile equipment and machinery, with the active involvement of our people, to open roads, remove sediments from yards and roads, help evacuate residencies as well as restore the bridge in Koropi. Additionally, we offered:
- water from the plant’s wells to the Municipality of Volos, the Water and Sewage Company of Volos as well as Thessaly Region;
- over 150,000 bottles of water to the employees of our Plant in Volos as well as to our fellow citizens;
- diesel to the Hellenic Rescue Team and the Special Forces Club;
- food to the Metropolis of Demetrias and Almyros to cater for those affected;
- construction machinery, such as loaders, trucks, bobcats, forklifts and cranes, to open roads and evacuate residencies;
- water-tank trucks to clean the city's main streets;
- paving materials and construction machinery for immediate restoration of the roads;
- voluntary work in cleanup activities, such as the cleaning of the schools in Agria.
We stand by our fellow citizens and we will continue to work relentlessly so that the local community will return to normalcy as soon as possible. We are committed to supporting our community, as we have seamlessly been doing for the past 100 years.
