We create the unexpected at Mikrolimano with Lafarge Special Concrete 

Lafarge Artevia Color is shaping a new Akti Koumoundourou

The renovation project of the picturesque Mikrolimano with a total area of ​​4,000 m2 includes two levels;

• the level of the coastal front for pedestrian crossing by the sea, as well as
• the level of the shops and the area of ​​the table seats.

Lafarge undertakes to transform Koumoundourou Coast with Special Concretes, advanced solutions that offer unlimited possibilities and a unique result in texture, appearance and aesthetics. Lafarge, having developed significant know-how in concrete, has established as a reliable partner that puts innovation, quality and aesthetic excellence at the center of its approach, while standing firmly by its customers from the conception until the completion of each construction.

For the renovation project of Mikrolimano, Lafarge undertook the creation of a specialized coloring using the architectural concrete Artevia Color, giving a unique identity. At the same time, meeting the high technical specifications of the project, the company anticipated the needs for surface treatments and installation of protective film, suitable for the coastal environment.

Artevia Color is applied and processed by a specialized and certified Lafarge technical crew through the "Placing & Finishing" service, delivering a finished floor ready for use.

More specifically, for the level of the table seats, Artevia Color was chosen with industrial floor surface treatment, which meets the demanding technical and aesthetic specifications of the project. The specially designed floor is going to accommodate the seated guests of restaurants and cafes and the pergolas of new technology, giving the spot uniformity and at the same time creating a sense of relaxation.

Going to the level by the sea, we meet the same material Artevia Color, with a combed surface this time, which is a natural continuation of the upper floor, but with non-slip properties to ensure safe walking of pedestrians. The Artevia Color comb is combined and alternated with natural materials (granite for the passage of people with disabilities and wood deck), delimiting areas of activity and contributing to the creation of a safe environment of high aesthetics.

The peculiarity of this project is that it is not a closed construction site which will be delivered upon completion of the project. On the contrary, the project is characterized by great flexibility, as the parts of the area that are completed get to be used by the stores right away. At the same time, the project needs to respect and take under consideration the need of residents and visitors to visit the area; thus the renovation project is carried out with all the necessary security measures respecting the parallel activities of the area.

The project in Mikrolimano started in early June and will be completed by the end of July, giving new life to the area. Representatives of local authorities stated that the in store traffic has already increased even before the project's completion.
