High Speed Railway Line

The new Tithorea - Lianokladi - Domokos High Speed Railway Line is a new double rail line, 106 km long, which replaces the difficult mountainous part of the existing single rail line.

The project includes the construction of twin tunnels with a length of 9,036 meters each, respectively crossing the Kallidromo and Othris mountains, as well as several railway bridges.

The new route is designed for speeds of 160-200 km / h. The project aims to reduce travel time between Athens and Thessaloniki to 3.5 hours. In addition, within the context of the Patras - Athens - Thessaloniki railway corridor it contributes to the restoration of the trans-European transport networks.
