Tempi Tunnel

The Great Tempi Tunnel was recently completed with HERACLES Group’s seal of approval, consisting a breath of fresh air for the Greek highways.

We supplied 480,000 tons of cement for the construction of the largest Road Tunnel in Greece and the Balkans. The magnitude, high demands and special features of the project required the cooperation, support and best practices by a company with a leading presence in the building materials industry and with significant know-how in concrete, such as HERACLES Group.

In particular, the new closed highway includes 3 Tunnels, the middle of which is the Great Tempi Tunnel. The Tunnel has two branches, one for each direction. Each branch is 6 km long, has two traffic lanes and an Emergency Lane.

The new road significantly enhances traffic safety, while reducing transit time by 20 minutes.
